This is one of my masterpieces. It began with a very thin mixture of my go-to color: Yellow, and grew thicker around the edges in inexplicable ways, with a contrasting Franz Kline ultramarine blue. THe blues contained enough yellow and a spot of alizarin to neutralize it, and the yellows also: Spots of red and ultramarine that combined in surprising ways. So thankful that i knew when to quit on this painting. It took a few hours here and there over the course of a few months. Fast and furious. One of my best works to date. So it is confusing to me why so many galleries request work completed within the last 2 years only….as if only the most recent work of an artist is the most valid.
